What this card does

Iron Leaves ex is a Basic Pokémon with a clever trick. The moment a child plays it from hand onto the Bench, it can swap straight into the Active Spot and pull Energy off the rest of the team onto itself.

That means it can arrive and attack in the same turn, even with no Energy on it beforehand. It is a planned ambush that catches an opponent off guard, though it cannot attack again the turn after its big hit.

Signature ability

Rapid Vernier

When you play this Pokémon from your hand onto your Bench during your turn, you may switch it with your Active Pokémon. If you do, you may move any amount of Energy from your other Pokémon to this Pokémon.

When you play Iron Leaves ex from your hand onto your Bench, Rapid Vernier lets you switch it into the Active Spot and move any amount of Energy from your other Pokémon onto it. This lets it attack the turn it arrives, with no setup time. It rewards careful planning, because you decide which turn to spring it.
