What this card does

Sits in play as a Stadium and affects both players at once.

Stops every Colorless Pokémon from using its Abilities while this card stays in play.

What it does

Team Rocket's Watchtower

Colorless Pokémon in play (both yours and your opponent's) have no Abilities.

A Stadium is a card that stays in play on the table and changes the rules for both players, and only one Stadium can be in play at a time. This one turns off the special Abilities of Colorless Pokémon, the type with no particular element, for everybody. That is useful when the opponent leans on a Colorless Pokémon whose Ability you want to stop.

Which deck it belongs in

Fits decks that want to shut down certain Colorless Pokémon and do not rely on Colorless Abilities themselves.

Strengths
  • Shuts off troublesome Colorless Abilities for the whole game while it stays out
  • Affects the opponent every turn, not just once
  • Can replace an opponent's helpful Stadium, since only one can be in play
Watch out for
  • It affects both players, so it can hurt your own Colorless Pokémon too
  • The opponent can play their own Stadium to remove yours

Pairs well with

Crushing Hammer
Crushing Hammer

Pair board-wide disruption with Energy removal to slow the opponent further.

Boss's Orders
Boss's Orders

Switch off a key Ability, then drag out the Pokémon you want to attack.

Pro tip

Only drop it when the opponent depends on a Colorless Ability, since it can switch off your own as well.

Good to know

Only one Stadium can be in play at once, so playing yours removes the opponent's.

Note for the parent

Explain that a Stadium affects both sides, so your child should only play it when the rule change hurts the opponent more than themselves.
