Darkness180 HPBasicBeginner to play

What this card does

Heal damage equal to what you dealt during your turn.

Deal heavy damage that ignores weakness and resistance.

Knock out an opponent's Pokemon if it has exactly four damage counters.

Signature attack

Sonic Evil

This attack’s damage isn’t affected by Weakness or Resistance. (100 damage)

The Absorb Vitality attack allows Yveltal GX to sustain itself by healing for the same amount of damage it inflicts. This creates a cycle where dealing damage also protects your own Pokemon from being knocked out.

Attacks

D
Absorb Vitality20

CCC
Sonic Evil100

This attack’s damage isn’t affected by Weakness or Resistance.

D
Doom Count GX

If your opponent’s Active Pokémon has exactly 4 damage counters on it, that Pokémon is Knocked Out. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

Which deck it belongs in

This card suits decks that focus on dealing consistent damage quickly to trigger its healing or knockout effects. It works well in strategies that can place exactly four damage counters on an opponent's Active Pokemon.

Strengths
  • Sustainable damage
  • Ignored weaknesses
  • High HP pool
Watch out for
  • One-time GX move
  • Lightning weakness
  • Exact counter requirement
Pro tip

Use Absorb Vitality to keep Yveltal alive while building up damage counters for a future Doom Count GX finish.

From the Pokédex

Yveltal is known as the Destruction Pokemon and can drain the life force of all living things when it spreads its wings.

Note for the parent
