Wailord ex
A massive Water type with huge damage potential but significant drawbacks.
What this card does
Wailord ex has 380 HP, making it very durable on the bench or in play.
It can deal 120 damage using three Water Energy cards for its Surf attack.
It can deal 270 damage using five Water Energy cards for its Falling Down attack.
Falling Down
This Pokémon is now Asleep. (270 damage)
The key feature is the choice between a reliable mid-range attack and a powerful finisher that costs extra energy. The Falling Down attack deals massive damage but forces your own Pokémon to rest, which limits your follow-up options.
Attacks
This Pokémon is now Asleep.
Which deck it belongs in
This card suits aggressive Water decks that can quickly attach multiple Energy cards. It works best in decks designed to win quickly before the sleep penalty becomes a major issue.
- •High HP
- •Massive damage output
- •Durable target
- •Vulnerable to Lightning attacks
- •Becomes asleep after strong attack
- •Requires many Energy cards
Use the 120 damage Surf attack when you need consistent damage without losing your Pokemon's turn.
Wailord is the heaviest Pokemon and can swim at speeds up to fifty knots.
Explain to your child that using the strongest attack means their Pokemon will be unable to move for the next turn, so they should plan carefully.
