Unown P
Rotated OutA risky psychic type that uses its bench presence to weaken itself for a powerful attack.
What this card does
Place Unown P on the Bench to put one damage counter on one of your other Pokémon before attacking.
Use Hidden Power to discard top cards from both decks, dealing 20 damage plus 20 more for each Unown discarded.
PUT
Once during your turn (before your attack), if Unown P is on your Bench, you may put 1 damage counter on 1 of your Pokémon (excluding any Unown).
This card encourages a high risk strategy. You weaken your own team by adding damage counters to gain the chance to deal massive damage with its attack.
Attacks
Each player discards the top card of his or her deck. This attack does 20 damage plus 20 more damage for each Unown discarded in this way.
Abilities
Once during your turn (before your attack), if Unown P is on your Bench, you may put 1 damage counter on 1 of your Pokémon (excluding any Unown).
Which deck it belongs in
It suits aggressive decks that can afford to lose some health for big hits. It works best when you have many other Unown cards to discard for extra damage.
- •High damage potential
- •Bench utility
- •Card draw teamwork
- •Self-damage risk
- •Psychic weakness
- •Unpredictable results
Wait until you have enough Unown cards in play to make the Hidden Power attack worth the self-inflicted damage.
Unown resembles ancient writing and has many different forms that look like letters of the alphabet.
Explain to your child that using this card means their Pokémon will take more damage from attacks in return for a stronger hit.
