Thundurus GX
Rotated OutA high risk, high reward attacker that relies on luck to deal massive damage.
What this card does
The Charge attack lets you search your deck for a Lightning Energy card and attach it to Thundurus GX, then shuffle your deck.
The Electric Ball attack deals 140 damage but has no extra effects.
The Thundering Hurricane GX attack flips four coins and deals 100 damage for each heads result.
Electric Ball
No game text. (140 damage)
The key feature is the Thundering Hurricane GX attack which can deal up to 400 damage if all coin flips land on heads. This makes it a powerful finisher but also very unpredictable because the outcome depends entirely on chance.
Attacks
Search your deck for a Lightning Energy card and attach it to this Pokémon. Then, shuffle your deck.
Flip 4 coins. This attack does 100 damage for each heads. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)
Which deck it belongs in
This card suits decks built around Lightning energy types that need a strong attacker to end games quickly. It works well in decks that can support its heavy energy requirements and benefit from the extra energy provided by its Charge attack.
- •High damage potential
- •Energy acceleration
- •Promo rarity
- •Unreliable damage output
- •Fighting weakness
- •One-time use ability
Use the Charge attack early in the game to ensure Thundurus GX has enough energy for its powerful attacks later on.
Thundurus is known as the Thunderbolt Pokemon and is said to appear when dark clouds gather in the sky.
Explain to your child that GX attacks can only be used once per game, so they should save this powerful move for when it is most needed.
