What this card does

Select a Basic Pokemon from your discard pile.

Swap it with a Basic Pokemon currently in play.

The new Pokemon keeps all attached cards, damage counters and effects.

What it does

Thorton

Choose a Basic Pokémon in your discard pile and switch it with 1 of your Basic Pokémon in play. Any attached cards, damage counters, Special Conditions, turns in play, and any other effects remain on the new Pokémon.

This card lets you bring back a Pokemon that has been knocked out or benched. It matters because the returned Pokemon arrives ready to fight with its previous status intact.

Which deck it belongs in

It suits decks that rely on specific Basic Pokemon needing a second chance. It works well in strategies where keeping damage counters attached is beneficial.

Strengths
  • Recovers key Pokemon
  • Preserves damage counters
  • Retains attachments
Watch out for
  • Only works on Basic Pokemon
  • Requires a swap not a direct add
  • Discard pile must have a target
Pro tip

Use this card when your main attacker is damaged but you need it back with its counters for a specific attack.

Good to know

Thorton is the gym leader of Eterna City and specialises in Rock type Pokemon.
