Team Rocket's Ekans
A basic Dark type that can stop an opponent's active Pokemon with a coin toss.
What this card does
Flip a coin for its Drag Down attack to potentially Paralyze the opponent's Active Pokemon.
Use Gnaw to deal 10 damage when you attach a Darkness Energy card.
Gnaw
No game text. (10 damage)
The Drag Down ability relies on luck, as you must flip heads to Paralyze the opposing Pokemon. This status effect prevents the opponent from attacking or retreating until your next turn.
Attacks
Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed.
Which deck it belongs in
This card fits well in decks that use Darkness Energy cards to support other Pokemon. It works best when paired with cards that benefit from the opponent being unable to attack.
- •Disruptive potential
- •Low energy cost for effect
- •Basic Pokemon status
- •Relies on coin flips
- •Weak to Fighting types
- •Low damage output
Use Drag Down early in the game to stop a powerful opponent from attacking before they can set up.
Ekans is known for silently slithering through narrow cracks to hunt its prey.
Explain to your child that the coin flip means this move is unpredictable and might not work every time.
