Spirit Mask
Rotated OutA protective tool that punishes attackers.
What this card does
The Spirit Mask attaches to an Active Pokemon as a Tool.
When the opponent damages your Pokemon with an attack, they must discard a card from their hand.
This effect happens even if the damage knocks out your Pokemon.
Spirit Mask
If the Pokémon this card is attached to is in the Active Spot and is damaged by an attack from your opponent's Pokémon (even if it is Knocked Out), your opponent discards a card from their hand.
This card forces the opponent to lose resources whenever they choose to attack your Active Pokemon. It acts as a deterrent because attacking becomes costly for them.
Which deck it belongs in
It suits decks that rely on keeping one strong Pokemon in play for many turns. It works well in control strategies where you want to drain the opponent's hand.
- •Hand disruption
- •Attack deterrent
- •Resource denial
- •Ineffective against non-attacking strategies
- •Only protects the Active spot
- •Requires an available Pokemon to attach
Attach it to your most valuable Pokemon to maximise the pressure on the opponent.
Spirit Masks are worn by trainers in the Sinnoh region to ward off evil spirits.
Explain that the mask only triggers when the Active Pokemon takes damage, not from other effects like poison or special abilities.
