What this card does

Sandy Shocks ex has 220 HP and costs two Fighting Energy and one Colorless Energy to use its main attack.

Its Magnetic Absorption ability lets you attach a Fighting Energy from your discard pile if your opponent has four or fewer Prize cards left.

The Earthen Spike attack deals 200 damage but stops this Pokémon from attacking during your next turn.

Signature ability

Magnetic Absorption

Once during your turn, if your opponent has 4 or fewer Prize cards remaining, you may attach a Basic {F} Energy card from your discard pile to this Pokémon.

The key feature is the Magnetic Absorption ability which recycles energy when the match is close to finishing. This allows you to keep dealing heavy damage with Earthen Spike even as resources run low for both players.

From the Pokédex

Sandy Shocks is a Pokémon that generates electricity by rubbing its fur against sand.

Note for the parent

Remind your child that using the ability is optional and should only be done when their opponent is close to losing, as it provides no benefit earlier in the game.
