What this card does

Sableye G has 70 hit points and requires Darkness energy to attack.

It can use Astonish to take a random card from your opponent's hand and shuffle it back into their deck.

Signature attack

Astonish

Choose 1 card from your opponent's hand without looking. Look at that card you chose, then have your opponent shuffle that card into his or her deck. (20 damage)

The key feature is the Astonish attack which forces the opponent to lose a card they intended to play. This creates uncertainty because they cannot predict which tool or strategy card you have removed.

Which deck it belongs in

This card fits well in decks that rely on disruption rather than pure damage output. It works best when paired with other cards that benefit from the opponent having fewer resources.

Strengths
  • Card disruption
  • Unpredictability
  • Low energy cost
Watch out for
  • Low hit points
  • Random effect
  • No damage boost
Pro tip

Use Astonish early to remove a key support card before the opponent can use it effectively.

From the Pokédex

Sableye is known for its greed and will steal anything that sparkles or catches its eye.

Note for the parent

Explain to your child that taking a card is only useful if they can then play their own cards before the opponent reshuffles and draws again.
