What this card does

You may play this card only if one of your Pokémon was Knocked Out by your opponent in their previous turn.

Choose one of your opponent's Pokémon and discard an Energy attached to it.

What it does

Rust Syndicate Grunt

You can use this card only if any of your Pokémon were Knocked Out during your opponent's last turn. Discard an Energy from 1 of your opponent's Pokémon.

This card acts as a penalty for the opponent after they have successfully defeated one of your creatures. By removing an Energy, you weaken their ability to attack or evolve in the next round.

Which deck it belongs in

It suits aggressive decks that expect frequent battles and Knock Outs. It works well when you want to punish an opponent who relies heavily on powering up specific Pokémon.

Strengths
  • •Punishes aggressive play
  • •Disrupts energy setup
  • •Turn-based trigger
Watch out for
  • •Requires a Knock Out to use
  • •Only removes one Energy
  • •Uncommon rarity
Pro tip

Use this when the opponent has just knocked out your Pokémon and is about to power up a strong attacker.

Good to know

Rust Syndicate Grunts are members of a criminal organization that operates in the Hoenn region.
