What this card does

You place Professor Rowan next to your Active Pokémon when you play him.

You choose one card to keep in your hand and shuffle the rest into your deck.

You then draw four new cards from your deck.

What it does

Professor Rowan

You can play only one Supporter card each turn. When you play this card, put it next to your Active Pokémon. When your turn ends, discard this card. Choose 1 card in your hand and shuffle the rest of your cards into your deck. Then, draw 4 cards. (If this is the only card in your hand, you can't play this card.)

Professor Rowan acts as a powerful refresh button for your resources. It allows you to swap out unwanted cards for fresh options, but it costs you the rest of your hand in the process.

Which deck it belongs in

This card suits decks that rely on drawing many cards quickly to find key items or attacks. It works best when you have enough cards in play to survive losing most of your hand.

Strengths
  • Hand refresh
  • Card advantage
  • Deck search
Watch out for
  • One per turn limit
  • Lose hand cards
  • Cannot play if hand is empty
Pro tip

Use this card when you have a good card to keep, like a powerful attack or item, and need fresh options for the next turn.

Good to know

Professor Rowan is a Pokémon researcher who studies the relationships between Pokémon and humans in the Sinnoh region.

Note for the parent

Remind your child they can only use one Supporter card per turn, so this move uses up their special action for the round.
