Pokémon Contest Hall

Rotated Out

A Stadium card that helps players find Basic Pokemon and Tools during the game.

StadiumBeginner to play

What this card does

This card stays on the field until another Stadium card is played.

Once per turn, a player may flip a coin to search their deck for a Basic Pokemon.

If the coin is heads, they can also search for a Pokemon Tool and attach it.

What it does

Pokémon Contest Hall

This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Stadium card comes into play. If another card with the same name is in play, you can't play this card. Once during each player's turn, if that player's Bench isn't full, the player may flip a coin. If heads, that player searches his or her deck for a Basic Pokémon and puts it onto his or her Bench. If the player does, he or she may search his or her deck for a Pokémon Tool card and attach it to that Pokémon. If that player searched his or her deck, the player shuffles his or her deck afterward.

The Contest Hall allows players to refresh their bench with new Basic Pokemon and useful items. This makes it easier to set up attacks or defend against opponents.

Which deck it belongs in

This card suits decks that need to quickly find specific Basic Pokemon or Tools. It works well in strategies that rely on having a full bench of attackers.

Strengths
  • Bench support
  • Tool search
  • Basic Pokemon retrieval
Watch out for
  • Coin flip chance
  • Deck shuffling delay
  • Stadium conflict
Pro tip

Keep your deck large enough so searching does not leave you with too few cards.

Good to know

Pokemon Contests are events where Pokemon show off their beauty and charm rather than fighting.

Note for the parent

Ask your child if they have enough cards in their deck to make searching worthwhile.
