What it does

Ninja Boy

Choose 1 of your Basic Pokémon in play. Search your deck for a Basic Pokémon and switch it with that Pokémon. (Any attached cards, damage counters, Special Conditions, turns in play, and any other effects remain on the new Pokémon.) Shuffle the first Pokémon into your deck.

This card allows a player to replace their fighting Pokemon with a new one from their deck. It is useful for changing tactics or avoiding damage without losing progress like attached cards or counters.

Which deck it belongs in

It suits decks that rely on switching out damaged Pokemon frequently. It works well in strategies where having the right Basic Pokemon available is more important than keeping the current one.

Strengths
  • Preserves damage counters
  • Retains attachments
  • Quick deck search
Watch out for
  • Only works on Basic Pokemon
  • Requires a matching type in deck
  • Shuffles opponent's search target away
Pro tip

Use it to bring out a specific counter to the opponent's current active Pokemon.

Good to know

Ninja Boys are young trainees who learn stealth and agility as part of their education.

Note for the parent

Explain that the new Pokemon keeps any items or energy attached to the old one, so it is not starting from scratch.
