What this card does

Select one Basic Darkness Pokemon from your discard pile.

Move that Pokemon to your Active Spot or Bench.

All attached cards and damage counters stay with the Pokemon.

What it does

Nanu

Choose a Basic Darkness Pokémon in your discard pile. Switch it with 1 of your Pokémon in play. Any attached cards, damage counters, Special Conditions, turns in play, and any other effects remain on the new Pokémon.

This card allows you to bring back a powerful Darkness Pokemon that has been knocked out. It matters because it keeps your main attacker in play without losing its progress.

Which deck it belongs in

It suits decks built around Basic Darkness Pokemon like Umbreon or Darkrai. These decks benefit from keeping their key attackers safe and ready.

Strengths
  • Recovers lost attackers
  • Preserves damage counters
  • Maintains attached cards
Watch out for
  • Only works on Basic Darkness Pokemon
  • Requires the target to be in discard pile
  • Does not heal Special Conditions
Pro tip

Use this card when your main attacker is knocked out to avoid losing its accumulated damage counters.

Good to know

Nanu is the leader of the Guardians of Alola and specialises in catching Pokemon that have broken the law.
