What this card does

You may place up to three cards from your discard pile into your hand.

The cards can be any mix of Basic Energy or non-Ex, non-V Pokémon.

What it does

Lana's Aid

Put up to 3 in any combination of Pokémon that don't have a Rule Box and Basic Energy cards from your discard pile into your hand. (Pokémon ex, Pokémon V, etc. have Rule Boxes.)

This card lets you dig through your discard pile to find exactly what you need. It helps you recover lost energy or bring back key Pokémon that were knocked out.

Which deck it belongs in

It suits decks that rely on specific Basic Energy types or have valuable Basic Pokémon. It is less useful in decks filled with powerful V or ex cards.

Strengths
  • Resource recovery
  • Deck consistency
  • Flexibility
Watch out for
  • Ignored by V cards
  • Ignored by ex cards
  • Requires specific targets
Pro tip

Check the discard pile first to ensure there are Basic Pokémon or Basic Energy before playing this card.

Good to know

Lana is the Gym Leader of Melemele Island and loves water type Pokémon.

Note for the parent

Remind your child they can only use this card if their discard pile contains eligible cards like Basic Energy or simple Pokémon.
