Hydreigon
A powerful Dark type that trades its own health for energy and deals heavy damage.
What this card does
It can move two Darkness Energy from your Energy Zone to itself once per turn, but takes 30 damage in the process.
It has an attack called Hyper Ray that costs three Darkness Energy and deals 130 damage, but you must discard all Energy attached to it afterward.
Roar in Unison
Once during your turn, you may take 2 {D} Energy from your Energy Zone and attach it to this Pokémon. If you do, do 30 damage to this Pokémon.
This card uses its Roar in Unison ability to quickly gather resources from your energy zone. The trade off is that it hurts itself slightly, which makes it a risky choice for long games.
Attacks
Discard all Energy from this Pokémon.
Abilities
Once during your turn, you may take 2 {D} Energy from your Energy Zone and attach it to this Pokémon. If you do, do 30 damage to this Pokémon.
Which deck it belongs in
It suits decks that focus on Darkness Energy and have ways to remove damage or protect the Pokemon. It works best when you can afford to lose some health for big attacks.
- •High damage output
- •Fast energy gathering
- •Stage 2 evolution
- •Takes self damage
- •Discards all energy
- •Weak to Grass type
Use the ability early to set up for a big attack, but remember the card will be empty of energy after using Hyper Ray.
Hydreigon is known for its three heads and its dark aura, which fits its Darkness type in the game.
Ask your child if they prefer cards that build up power slowly or those that deal big damage quickly at a cost.
