Hop's Trevenant
A defensive Stage 1 Pokemon that locks opponents in place after a knockout.
What this card does
Horrifying Revenge deals extra damage if one of your Hop's Pokemon was knocked out last turn.
Corner prevents the opponent's Pokemon from retreating for their next turn.
Corner
During your opponent's next turn, the Defending Pokémon can't retreat. (90 damage)
This card uses a 'lock' mechanic to stop the opponent from moving their Pokemon away. It is most effective when you have previously lost one of your Hop's Pokemon, as this triggers the bonus damage.
Attacks
If any of your Hop's Pokémon were Knocked Out by damage from an attack during your opponent's last turn, this attack does 100 more damage.
During your opponent's next turn, the Defending Pokémon can't retreat.
Which deck it belongs in
It fits into a deck built around Hop's Phantump and Trevenant cards. These decks often rely on trading knocks for powerful counter attacks.
- •High damage potential
- •Traps opponent
- •Teamwork with Hop cards
- •Weak to Darkness type
- •Requires specific setup
- •Only works if a Hop Pokemon was knocked out
Use Corner to force the opponent to take damage from their own attacks instead of retreating.
Trevenant is said to live in deep forests and is often mistaken for a tree stump by hikers.
Explain to your child that they need to check if any of their Hop Pokemon were knocked out last turn before using the first attack.
