What this card does

Hop's Sandaconda has 140 HP and evolves from Hop's Silicobra.

The Rumble attack costs one Fighting and one Colorless energy to deal 30 damage and stop the opponent's Pokémon from retreating next turn.

The Break Ground attack costs one Fighting and two Colorless energies to deal 140 damage but also deals 20 damage to each of your own Benched Pokémon.

Signature attack

Break Ground

This attack also does 20 damage to each of your Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) (140 damage)

This card uses its second attack to deal heavy damage while weakening your own bench. You must weigh the benefit of a strong hit against the cost of damaging your other Pokémon.

Which deck it belongs in

It suits decks that can protect their bench or heal damaged Pokémon quickly. It works best when you need to lock an opponent in place with Rumble before finishing them off.

Strengths
  • High damage output
  • Retreat denial
  • Uncommon rarity
Watch out for
  • Self-damage on bench
  • Fighting weakness
  • Energy cost
Pro tip

Use Rumble to trap a valuable opponent's Pokémon before switching in Sandaconda to attack with Break Ground.

From the Pokédex

Sandaconda coils around its prey and squeezes until it cannot move.

Note for the parent

Remind your child to check their bench before using Break Ground so they do not accidentally defeat their own Pokémon.
