Fighting140 HPStage 1Intermediate to play

What this card does

Blocks the Defending Pokémon from retreating during your opponent's next turn.

Deals 140 damage and an additional 20 to each Benched Pokémon, but only if both Colorless Energy are attached.

Signature attack

Break Ground

This attack also does 20 damage to each of your Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) (140 damage)

Hop's Sandaconda's Break Ground attack is powerful because it not only deals significant damage but also prevents your opponent from using their Bench. This can turn the tide of battle quickly.

Which deck it belongs in

Works well in decks that need to control the game and deal heavy damage, such as those focused on Fighting-type Pokémon or those needing a strong late-game attacker.

Strengths
  • High attack power
  • Limits opponent's options
  • Effective against Bench-heavy teams
Watch out for
  • Needs two Colorless Energy to be fully effective
  • Weakness to Grass-type attacks
Pro tip

Use Rumble before Break Ground if you suspect your opponent might try to retreat their Pokémon.

From the Pokédex

Hop's Sandaconda can store sand in its body, which it uses to create a powerful, abrasive attack.

Note for the parent

This card is best used when you want to disrupt your opponent's strategy while dealing substantial damage. Consider pairing it with other Fighting-type cards for maximum effect.
