Guzzlord ex
A powerful but risky dark-type attacker that can strip away an opponent's resources.
What this card does
The Grindcore attack costs two Colorless energy and deals 30 damage while flipping a coin repeatedly until it lands on tails. For every heads result, you discard a random Energy card from the opponent's active Pokémon.
The Tyrannical Hole attack requires three Darkness energy and one Colorless energy to deal 120 damage with no additional effects.
Tyrannical Hole
No game text. (120 damage)
The key feature is Grindcore which uses a coin flip to potentially remove your opponent's energy cards. This makes it dangerous because you might accidentally hurt yourself if the flips go wrong.
Attacks
Flip a coin until you get tails. For each heads, discard a random Energy from your opponent's Active Pokémon.
Which deck it belongs in
This card suits decks that can protect it well since it has a weakness to Grass type attacks. It works best when paired with cards that help manage the risk of discarding your own energy.
- •High damage output
- •Resource disruption
- •Basic Pokémon status
- •Weak to Grass types
- •Self-inflicted energy loss
- •Two Prize card penalty
Use Grindcore when you are confident your opponent has few Energy cards left to discard.
Guzzlord is known for devouring anything in its path and is often found in the Ultra Space.
Watch out for the coin flipping as it adds an element of chance that might frustrate a child who prefers control over their moves.
