Dragon160 HPStage 2Advanced to play

What this card does

When an opponent's Active Pokémon retreats, they flip a coin. If tails, they can't switch and lose Energy.

Discards the top card of your deck for 160 damage.

Signature ability

Slimy Sliding

When your opponent's Active Pokémon retreats, your opponent flips a coin. If tails, Energy for its Retreat Cost is not discarded, and they don't switch Pokémon. The effect of Slimy Sliding doesn't stack.

Goodra's Slimy Sliding makes it harder for opponents to change their strategy mid-game by keeping them stuck with a costly retreat.

Which deck it belongs in

Works well in decks that rely on forcing opponent Pokémon to retreat or switching out, as it counters these moves effectively.

Strengths
  • Prevents opponents from easily switching Pokémon
  • Discards an opponent's top card for significant damage
Watch out for
  • Can disrupt your own draw by discarding a deck top card
  • Slimy Sliding doesn't always work as intended.
Pro tip

Use Dragon Pulse to force the discard of key cards in your opponent's hand.

From the Pokédex

Goodra can summon underwater currents that bend and twist, making it nearly impossible for its opponents to predict its movements.

Note for the parent

Consider Goodra if your child's deck often needs to force the opponent to switch Pokémon.
