ItemBeginner to play

What this card does

Each player must choose one of their benched Pokemon and move it to the active spot.

The opponent makes this choice before you do.

What it does

Escape Rope

Each player switches their Active Pokémon with 1 of their Benched Pokémon. Your opponent switches first. (If a player does not have a Benched Pokémon, they don't switch Pokémon.)

This card creates a simultaneous swap where your opponent picks first. It is useful for escaping dangerous attacks or changing the battle dynamic unexpectedly.

Which deck it belongs in

It suits decks that rely on switching strategies or need to avoid specific attack types. It works well in competitive play to disrupt an opponent's setup.

Strengths
  • Forced swap
  • Unpredictable outcome
  • Strategic disruption
Watch out for
  • Opponent picks first
  • No benched Pokemon available
  • May help the opponent
Pro tip

Use this when your active Pokemon is in trouble but be careful if you have no replacements.
