Darkrai G
Rotated OutA tricky Dark-type that disrupts your opponent's sleep strategy.
What this card does
It uses Eerie Aura to place damage counters on sleeping Pokémon at the end of each turn.
Its Darkness Sleep attack puts the defending Pokémon to sleep if it already has damage counters.
Eerie Aura
Put 1 damage counter on each of your opponent's Pokémon that remains Asleep between turns.
This card thrives when your opponent relies on putting their own Pokémon to sleep. The Eerie Aura ability turns that strategy against them by dealing extra damage every turn, while the attack adds more sleep to confuse the opponent.
Attacks
If the Defending Pokémon already has any damage counters on it, that Pokémon is now Asleep.
Abilities
Put 1 damage counter on each of your opponent's Pokémon that remains Asleep between turns.
Which deck it belongs in
It suits decks that control the game state with status conditions like sleep. It works well in teams that can protect it from Fighting-type weaknesses.
- •Disrupts sleep strategies
- •Extra damage output
- •Status confusion
- •Fighting weakness
- •Low HP total
- •Requires setup
Use the attack to force sleep on a damaged target, then let Eerie Aura do the rest of the work.
Darkrai is known as the Pitch-Black Pokémon and is said to appear only during nights with no moon.
Ask your child if they are using sleep effects, as this card punishes that tactic heavily.
