GrassDarkness90 HPStage 2Advanced to play

What this card does

It can poison an opponent's active Pokemon using its Black Beam ability.

Its Dark Drain attack deals 10 damage to all opposing Pokemon and removes damage counters from itself.

Its Skill Dive attack deals 30 damage to a single target.

Signature ability

Black Beam

Once during your turn (before your attack), if Dark Crobat is your Active Pokémon, you may choose 1 of the Defending Pokémon. That Pokémon is now Poisoned. This power can't be used if Dark Crobat is affected by a Special Condition.

The Dark Drain attack is the key feature because it hits every opponent's Pokemon at once. It also heals Dark Crobat by removing damage counters equal to the number of opposing Pokemon in play.

Which deck it belongs in

This card suits decks that want to apply pressure across the entire board rather than focusing on one target. It works well in teams that can protect it from Special Conditions to keep its ability active.

Strengths
  • Board-wide damage
  • Self-healing capability
  • Poison status effect
Watch out for
  • Lightning weakness
  • Requires two energy types
  • Incapable of using ability while sick
Pro tip

Use Dark Drain when the opponent has many Pokemon on their bench to maximise both damage and healing.

From the Pokédex

Crobat is known for its incredible speed and can fly silently without flapping its wings.

Note for the parent

Remind your child that Dark Crobat cannot use its Black Beam ability if it is already poisoned or paralyzed.
