Item

Claw Fossil

Rotated Out

A unique Trainer card that acts like a fragile Pokemon to help you manage your bench.

ItemBeginner to play

What this card does

You play Claw Fossil onto your Bench as if it were a Basic Pokemon.

It has 40 HP and cannot be affected by Special Conditions or retreat.

You can discard it from play at any time during your turn before attacking.

What it does

Claw Fossil

Play Claw Fossil as if it were a Colorless Basic Pokémon. (Claw Fossil counts as a Trainer card as well, but if Claw Fossil is Knocked Out, this counts as a Knocked Out Pokémon.) Claw Fossil can't be affected by any Special Conditions and can't retreat. At any time during your turn before your attack, you may discard Claw Fossil from play. (This doesn't count as a Knocked Out Pokémon.)

This card lets you place an extra item on your Bench without using a real Pokemon slot. You can remove it safely whenever you wish, which helps keep your bench clear for stronger cards.

Note for the parent

Explain to your child that while it looks like a Pokemon, it is technically a Trainer card used for its specific effect.
