Bubble Coat

Rotated Out

A tool that protects your Pokemon from weakness but disappears after taking damage.

TrainerBeginner to play

What this card does

Attach it to a Pokemon that has no other tools.

The Pokemon loses its weakness type while the tool is attached.

Discard the tool if the Pokemon is knocked out or takes any damage.

What it does

Bubble Coat

Attach Bubble Coat to 1 of your Pokémon that doesn't already have a Pokémon Tool attached to it. If that Pokémon is Knocked Out, discard this card. As long as Bubble Coat is attached to a Pokémon, that Pokémon has no Weakness. If that Pokémon is damaged by an opponent's attack, discard this card at the end of the turn.

Bubble Coat removes the weak spot of your Pokemon so opponents cannot deal extra damage. However it is fragile because it must be discarded immediately after your Pokemon hits the ground or receives even a single point of damage.

Which deck it belongs in

This card suits decks that rely on a specific Pokemon to survive longer against types that would normally hurt it badly. It works best when you can protect that Pokemon from being hit in the first place.

Strengths
  • Removes weakness
  • Protects key attacker
  • Uncommon rarity
Watch out for
  • Disappears after damage
  • Cannot stack with other tools
  • Fragile protection
Pro tip

Use this card only when your Pokemon is about to face a type that deals double damage.

Good to know

Bubble Coats are special shells that help some Pokemon stay safe in the water.

Note for the parent

Remind your child that this tool vanishes the moment their Pokemon gets hurt so they should use it only when necessary.
