The best young players are not lucky. They have good habits they do every single game.
Pick one or two to practise, then add more.
The habits
None of these are hard. They just take practice until they feel normal.
- ✔Always start with enough Basic Pokémon so you do not have to redraw your hand.
- ✔Use a draw or search card almost every turn to keep finding what you need.
- ✔Plan your turn before you touch a card.
- ✔Think one turn ahead: what will my opponent do next.
- ✔Look after your Bench, because your future attackers live there.
- ✔Do not rush your attack, set up first.
- ✔Stay calm when you are behind, because games turn around.
Practise on purpose
After a game, ask yourself one question: what would I do differently. That one question makes you better faster than anything else.
Remember
- •Good habits beat good luck.
- •Draw cards, plan ahead, and set up before you attack.
- •After every game, find one thing to improve.
