A simple plan for every turn

Start here · 3 min read

When it is your turn, it is easy to rush and forget something. A simple order helps a lot.

Try following these steps every turn until they feel natural.

The turn order to remember

Do the small jobs first, then the big attack last. Attacking ends your turn, so leave it until everything else is done.

  • Draw your card for the turn.
  • Use any Abilities that help, like drawing more cards.
  • Play your Pokémon and evolve the ones you can.
  • Attach one Energy.
  • Play your Item and Supporter cards (one Supporter per turn).
  • Attack last, because attacking ends your turn.

Slow down and look

Before you attack, stop and look at the whole board. Could you set up a better turn first.

Many games are lost by attacking too soon and forgetting to draw or set up.

Remember
  • Draw, then Abilities, then evolve, then Energy, then Trainers, then attack.
  • You may play only one Supporter each turn.
  • Attacking ends your turn, so do it last.
